Making Your Company Website SEO-Friendly

Before you add relevant content to your new website, you need to ensure that the content is SEO-friendly to attract visitors and traffic to your website. Making your website SEO-friendly in the initial stage is better than spending long hours later into editing your website from the SEO perspective.

Listed below are some steps you can take to make any website SEO-friendly:

  1. Identify the relevant Google search keywords for your website.

Depending on the content category of your website, identify the relevant search keywords that will drive web traffic to your site. Example, for an ecommerce website, the primary keywords would be “E-commerce” or “online sales.” Additionally, divide your website into different categories, with a different set of keywords (secondary) for each category. Structuring your website with multiple secondary pages is a better design from a SEO perspective than covering multiple topics in a single page.

  1. Ensure that each website page has great content.

Website content should be such that it engages with the readers and keeps them interested. Typically, pages with more than 2000 words of content rank higher in Google search results. Incorporate your identified keywords smartly into your content, but avoid overstuffing of keywords, as this may lead to website penalization. Include your primary and secondary keywords into the headings in each page.

  1. Use your webpage title tags.

Besides your content page, you must also use the title tag of each web page to include the primary keywords. A well-written title tag must not only be able to describe the content of the page (example: “Online marketing and SEO services in the UK – Emarketz”), but also include the keywords. Key points to remember about your title tag is to start your tag with the keyword, use only 1 keyword in each title tag, and ensure that your title tag is not more than 60 characters long to avoid Google truncating its length in the search results page.

  1. Add relevant meta descriptions to increase the click-through rate.

Higher ranking is not the only factor for SEO. The user must not only view your website in the search result but must click the link. This can be achieved using relevant meta descriptions that appear below your website link in the search results. Ensure that each page of your website has its own set of meta descriptions.

  1. Additional Steps

After developing your website content, configure Google Analytics to monitor your web traffic. The last step is to promote your website link using your personal network and web influencers.
